It is generally accepted in parapsychology that there is a lack of a mechanism to explain the phenomena. This may be partly due to the inherent schism between "hard" (causal) and "soft" (statistical) sciences which may also prevent communication of relevant information.
It is a scientist's duty to form a hypothesis which gathers observations. Precognition can be explained in terms of zero-time: future events can affect past events and vice-versa. Assuming that zero time exists within the atoms of the brain, then future mental states may be able to affect past mental states. One might say that with sensitivity, shadows of future events can be felt.
According to the Heisenberg principle, the more closely something is observed, the more it is affected. Observing the future affects it. Focussed goals can help a person to affect the future in positive ways.
Energy is required to cause change. Within this context, the magnitude of change can be interpreted in terms of the number of people affected by the change, and the degree to which they are affected.
